the One-Handed Baker—or just OHBaker for short!
My journey into baking wasn’t exactly conventional. In 2012, life threw me an unexpected challenge when I suffered a severe stroke that left my left hand and arm completely immobile. Overnight, everything changed. I had to relearn how to navigate life with just one hand. It took 15 long months to regain my independence, and I’ll be honest—it wasn’t easy.
But in the midst of uncertainty, a spark of hope arrived in the form of a birthday gift—a humble mixer machine. At first, I started baking just to pass the time, but soon it brought me a sense of fulfillment I hadn't felt in a long time. There’s something magical about watching basic ingredients like flour, eggs, and butter transform into rich, fluffy, mouthwatering treats. And the best part is seeing the pure joy on people’s faces when they take that first bite!
Baking has taught me patience, perseverance, and the importance of being kind to ourselves—because sometimes, the most beautiful things come from life’s unexpected twists. My hope is that each bite of my bakes brings you as much happiness as baking has brought me. Fun fact, I'm a potterhead aka a huge fan of Harry Potter.
